June, 2010. ALPAO has designed a new adaptive optics system has been designed for correcting atmospheric turbulences. Based on ALPAO proprietary technologies, it consists in a large stroke deformable mirror having 277 actuators, a 16x16 wavefront sensor and the ALPAO Core Engine (control software).

Excellent dynamic performances are obtained using a standard off-the-shelf computer. Indeed, using the convenient MATLAB environment, the typical delay of 1.1 milli-second.
The three figures hereafter show hereafter the correction of turbulence generated by a phase plate. The right figure shows the dramatic increase of the encircled energy. |
